Since our 2017 meeting, in Tulsa, the conference committee created an editorial team consisting of Benjamin Barnes, Christine Ballengee-Morris, Marti Chaatsmith, and Stephen Warren. The four of us have been hard at work on the final round of essays. Our next meeting with these authors will occur at the end of the Myaamia Conference, in Oxford, Ohio, on Saturday, March 31, 2018. Our plan is to use this conference as a collaborative workshop in which we discuss and edit, in an intensive way, each of the final essays. We will then move toward publication of an edited volume tentatively entitled “Community-Engaged Scholarship in Indian Country.” If all goes according to plan, the Ohio gathering this coming March will enable us to submit the book for review with SUNY University Press, as part of Brian Hosmer and Larry Nesper’s prestigious “Tribal Worlds” series. We hope that you are as excited about this opportunity as we are. But more importantly, we hope that you will SAVE THE DATE and join us this coming March in Ohio. Please contact Ben, Christine, Marti, and me regarding your plans. In the meantime, please know that a more detailed message regarding the structure, and specific goals of our mini-conference, will be coming soon!
